You will likely hear that there are foods and drinks like lactation cookies and teas, that can help build your milk supply; but there is limited scientific evidence to support this claim. Want a snack? Eat this brownie instead!
I love this brownie for breastfeeding mamas because:
it's quick and easy to make
super satisfying and filling
you can eat it with one hand!
it can easily be made vegan
good for people with egg or dairy allergies
something you can make with your kids – because it’s egg free you don’t have to worry about your toddler eating the raw batter!
unlike many lactation cookies, it’s not loaded with sugar
400 gr can of chickpeas – rinsed and drained
325 gr peanut butter (or other nut butter)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup maple syrup
120 gr melted chocolate (use a dark chocolate to make this recipe vegan or dairy free)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarb soda
1 & ¼ cups plain flour
2 heaped teaspoons cocoa powder
Preheat the oven at 150 degrees.
Whizz everything together in the food processor until combined. Pour into a brownie tin lined with baking paper and bake for 30 minutes.
